January’s not my favorite month. Not by a long shot. It’s about #12 of 12. But that’s just an approximation, of course. Cold. Gray. Slush. Slick. Sickness. Post-Christmas letdown. Generally, not a lot to look forward to (unless, of course, you have a January birthday! That’s something to celebrate! A bright spot in an otherwise dull month.)

Oh, of course, there is much to be thankful for. Though the world is in chaos, and many of our lives are in chaos, even in the junk, there is much to celebrate. Much significant “stuff” to reflect on. There are the people in my life. The ways I love and am loved. The provisions I’m given day in and day out. The surprises that come. And the deep-down joy and security I have only because of Jesus.

But then, there’s also the little things. And I think nothing can brighten a coooooolllllldΒ January day like rounding up a few of my favorites from the month.Β  You might find yourself a new favorite!Β You should definitely hum “My Favorite Things” as you read along …

  1. Great list! And The Good Place has been so good this season! I never have an idea where they are going to take the next episode.

    1. Thanks, Alison! πŸ™‚ Yes, I am always on the edge of my seat wondering where this will go. AFter this week, I wonder, how will they keep this show going? Where does it go from here?! But, I still am mega impressed with the finale of season one. that was such an unexpected move and i can totally imagine they lost some folks before they got to the finale, but it was SO worth it!

  2. I love Canva too πŸ™‚

    1. πŸ™‚ I was wondering how artsy people felt about it. since i only WISH i had graphic design capabilities, it’s great because I can live out my visions without being skilled πŸ™‚ But i’ve been wondering if arts and graphics people like it or not!

  3. Not a clue what Canva is–or some of the others of your favorites, really. Haven’t seen that show–nice to know something out there is well-written. But the idea of favorite things is a keeper. It’s so easy to crab. Thinking of what brings a grin is spot on awesome. Well said, one of my favorite folks!

  4. Not a clue what Canva is. Haven’t seen that show–but it’s fun to know something out there is well-written. I lose all kinds of traction with tech. But I love the idea of favorite things! A chance to really consider what brings the grin to my face and a giggle to my heart. Well said, one of my favorite folks!
